Help build a new lab for undergraduates in biomedical engineering

The Department of Biomedical Engineering hopes to introduce an instrumentation and circuit design lab to educate students on instrumentation, electrophysiology and clinical applications relevant to biological systems and physiological measurements. Students will learn basic circuit theory and the fundamentals of measuring biosignals. Purchase all equipment: $20,000

Support world's greatest debate team

The Cornell Forensics Society (the university's debate team) was ranked first in the world last year and is competing fiercely to retain that spot. More than 100 students of all ability levels and majors participate in the program. Teams compete in a series of six to eight debates, followed by an elimination round. Support their 2014 domestic and international travel budget: $1,000 to $5,000

Improve cutting-edge fabrics

Fiber Science & Apparel Design's Sonobond Ultrasonic Fusing Machine, which uses threadless technology to cut and fuse fabrics for fashion and functional applications, needs 25 additional pattern wheels to increase the machine's versatility for a wider variety of fabrics and end-uses for teaching and research. $20,000

Boots for Puss 'n' Boots

Help dogs and cats suffering from tenderness on the paw or lower leg. Faculty and trainees in the radiation therapy section of the Cornell University Hospital for Animals feel these boots are a lifesaver in reducing pain, infection and cost of replacement dressings. Shoe 25 animals: $500

Digitize music department recordings

Make possible the transfer and preservation of old performances given by (or for) the department from cassette tape to stable and lasting digital recordings for posterity: $10,000

Send a woman lacrosse player to the Emerald Isle and beyond

The team is planning a foreign tour this summer and will play in Ireland, Holland and Belgium. To fund this skill- and spirit-building trip, the team has run clinics, camps and fundraisers, and each player's family will make a contribution, as well. Any gift to the travel fund is welcome!
